Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the FriendBook mobile application or website, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to any part of these terms, please do not use FriendBook.
These terms apply to all visitors, registered users, and group administrators of the platform.
These terms were last updated in August 2026. We may update them periodically and will notify you of significant changes through the app.

Account Registration & Usage
To use FriendBook you must create an account using a valid mobile number verified via OTP. By creating an account you confirm that:
- You are at least 13 years of age or have parental consent if under 13
- All information you provide is accurate and truthful
- You will keep your account credentials confidential and not share them
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
- You will not create multiple accounts or impersonate another person
- You will not use automated tools or bots to access the platform
FriendBook reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms without prior notice.

Permitted Use
FriendBook is designed for school students and alumni to reconnect with classmates and batchmates. You may use the platform to:
- Create and manage a personal profile with accurate information
- Search for and connect with current and former school batchmates
- Join school batch groups after receiving admin approval
- Send friend requests and chat with approved connections
- Share posts, photos, audio clips, and updates with your batch community
- Like, comment, and interact with content shared by connections

Prohibited Activities
The following activities are strictly prohibited on FriendBook. Violation will result in immediate account suspension or permanent ban:
- Posting abusive, hateful, threatening, or discriminatory content of any kind
- Sharing explicit, obscene, pornographic, or adult content on the platform
- Harassing, bullying, or intimidating other users in any manner
- Sharing someone else's personal information without their consent (doxxing)
- Spreading misinformation or deliberately false content
- Using the platform for commercial advertising without prior written consent
- Attempting to hack, exploit, or disrupt the platform's security or functionality
- Uploading malware, viruses, or any harmful code
Our AI-powered content moderation system automatically flags and reviews potentially harmful content. Human moderators review flagged posts and take appropriate action.

Privacy Policy — What We Collect
We collect only the information necessary to provide FriendBook's services to you:
- Your full name and mobile number provided during registration
- Optional email address for account recovery and seller verification
- School, batch, class, division, and academic year details
- Profile picture and bio that you choose to upload
- Messages and posts you share within the platform
- Device FCM token for sending push notifications
- App usage data to improve performance and features
We do not collect your location, contacts, camera access, or any data beyond what is explicitly listed above.

How We Use Your Data
Your data is used solely to operate and improve FriendBook. Specifically:
- To authenticate your identity and secure your account
- To match you with classmates from the same school and batch
- To deliver real-time notifications for messages, requests, and updates
- To enable group chat, post sharing, and community features
- To moderate content and ensure community safety
- To send important service announcements and updates
We will never sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. Ever.

Your Rights & Data Control
You have full control over your data on FriendBook at all times:
- You can edit or delete your profile information at any time
- You can block users to prevent them from seeing your content or messaging you
- You can report any post, user, or group that violates our guidelines
- You can request complete deletion of your account and all associated data
- You can opt out of push notifications at any time from your device settings
- You can update your mobile number or email through verified OTP flow

Limitation of Liability
FriendBook is provided on an "as is" basis without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform
- We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free access to the platform at all times
- We are not responsible for the content posted by users on the platform
- We are not liable for any loss of data resulting from technical failures
Our maximum liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid to use FriendBook (which is zero, as the service is free).
