Your data is used solely to operate and improve the FriendBook platform. Specifically, we use your information to:

• Authenticate your identity and secure your account via OTP verification
• Match you with classmates from the same school and batch year
• Enable group chat, direct messaging, and community post sharing
• Deliver real-time push notifications for messages, friend requests, and group updates
• Moderate content and ensure the safety of our community
• Process school and batch group join requests through our approval system
• Send important service announcements, security alerts, and updates
• Respond to customer support and contact form submissions
• Improve the platform's performance, features, and user experience

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties under any circumstances. Your information may only be shared in the following very limited situations:

• Within your verified school batch community — only users in the same approved group can see your profile and posts
• With trusted service providers who help operate the platform such as cloud hosting and email delivery services, under strict confidentiality agreements
• When required by applicable law, court order, or government authority
• In the event of a merger or acquisition, your data would remain subject to the same privacy protections

• OTP-based mobile number verification for all account registrations and logins
• Group join approval system ensuring only verified batchmates can access your community
• Content moderation powered by OpenAI to detect and block harmful or abusive content
• Secure HTTPS connections for all data transmitted between the app and our servers
• Firebase Cloud Messaging tokens stored securely and used only for push notifications
• Regular security reviews and updates to our backend infrastructure

However, no method of internet transmission is completely secure. While we strive to protect your information using commercially acceptable means, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
